MAS @ the Fire Haus

Counsel takes pole position at the March meeting.
Five men out. Do we know who we are? If not see JG. Dues are dues. And thank you Mr. Fire Man for the use of your fine facility. I can see counsel liked it.

Yankee Spirits, Sturbridge, MA

http://www.yankeespirits.com/

A must stop in central Mass. for beer and wine. Great selection of Belgians local and they have some left coast beers like the The Lost Abbey.

New Sierra Schwartz

New Sierra Schwartz black beer available now at the Dutch Ale house. Seems like a slightly less hoppy and slightly more malty version of the porter. Barman Rich says Sierra is coming out with a new product each quarter and he is signed up for all of them

The Dutch Ale House, Saugerties NY

Counsel enjoying a CZ plisner. I know he always looks like that. He did like the Dutch Ale House and the beer. Owner Richard Michaels is very nice and very knowageable about beer. His wife makes all the soups and you have to have the garlic burger. 15 drafts all good. Well worth the trip or if you are in the Mid Hudson Valley you have to stop in. 255 Main Street Saugerties. A true beer bar.

Mahar`s Public Bar, Albany, NY

Counsel's birthday meeting at Mahar`s Public Bar
in Pine Hills with no less then 11 Belgium's on tap was a Silly event. Petrus old oak aged truly is the key to heaven.
A sour-sweet balance offset by the underlying bitterness of the hops. Another brewery you don't see on draft in this part of the world is Silly. Billie Dean has two offering form this Silly brewery. Silly Saison very dark in color for a Saison style beer. Maybe a little off as well. Will have to try again. And Silly Scotch ale much more like a Belgium Scotch. Full nose very rich and great March beer. Also the first I've seen Piraat on tap. One of many going at the benchmark. At 10.5 it's highing then the benchmark and a lot heaver and sweeter. Billie Dean was a great host and very helpful. Mahar's was one the first and still one of the best.

A goodtime was had by all as the video will a test to:
